Project
Managment |
|
The basic aim of Project
Management is to complete the project on time, within budget and
as per the quality/specifications.
Every construction contract consists of a mass of commitment,
changes, understanding, claims & facts. Moving the project
forward, tracking down problems, resolving issues and controlling
costs are challenges that must be met in order to achieve the
project objectives.
Complex projects require composite teams where people must
continually interact for a long period of time. For complex projects
there is a great deal of learning involved in each step of the
project & the performance of any given current activity often
becomes dependent on what was learned during the completion of the
last activity. Such a high degree of interdependence required a very
well functioning and cohesive team.
The aim of Project Management is to accomplish the project
objectives with bounded resources, which are time, money, material,
equipment & manpower. The Project Management comprises of Planning
Scheduling, Organizing, and Controlling of different
tasks involved in a project.
Planning is to identify the works that must be done to achieve the
Project objectives. This is done by splitting the Project into
different task/activities and then apply Scheduling method to
conclude the optimum construction Program. There are many ways to
plan the project but the most effective & most widely used
method is known to be as Critical Path Method (CPM).
Organizing is to control the sort order & grouping of activities
and establishing proper communication channels and flow of
information and procedures to ensure successful Project.
Controlling is the most important aspect of Project Management,
which differentiates the base line & actual progress. It gives a
clear idea what strategy should be adopted for future to avoid any
delay.
